El Olmedo Museum

We collaborated with Museo Dolores Olmedo in Mexico City to develop a brand visual system for one of the largest collections of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera artwork in the world.

The system was built around five guiding principles: consistency and clarity, rules without limitations, simple and solid tools, consistency across media, and strategic focus. The goal was to create an identity that could adapt across different communications needs while remaining easy to apply by the museum team responsible for day-to-day implementation.

The logo was designed to flex in position, scale, placement, and color so it could adapt across formats and artwork styles while keeping the museum name visible and the artwork as the primary focus. A restrained color palette and simple typography helped the system work across a wide range of backgrounds and media without competing with the collection itself.

The identity was designed to reflect the museum’s essence: live cultural experience, warm hospitality, and a modern, global expression of Mexicanidad. The result was a recognizable and approachable system designed for both local and international audiences.
